In 1975 Haven Equipment Directors, Bob Forrest & Barry Rudge, both having spent all their lives in the material handling industry, formed a design office to produce designs and manufacturing drawings, specialising in materials handling equipment, particularly conveyors. This developed into a design and supply company completing large and small contracts for companies in the UK , Europe, Turkey , South Africa and the Middle East over the next two decades.

At an early stage it became apparent that there was enormous waste of equipment within the industry as production methods were changing at an ever increasing pace. Determined to offer a service recycling some of this material, Haven Equipment Company was established in 1980.

In the quarter century since then, Haven Equipment has evolved into the foremost conveyor recycling company in the UK . All equipment is refurbished to a high standard for re-use in industries as diverse as the nuclear industry to soft toy manufacturers, food processing to steel making, I. T. equipment manufacture to animal bedding, North Sea oil equipment to kitchen manufacturers, Theme Parks and of course the waste recycling industry. In this time we have, naturally, made profits but also created many jobs in our local area and we are proud of our in-house trained, multi-skilled and extremely loyal workforce, most of whom joined as school leavers and now produce high quality new and reconditioned equipment.

Our main boast is that we have saved our customers millions of pounds in capital expenditure over the years, often enabling clients to install handling equipment when it would be impossible to justify the financing of new equipment. Just as importantly we have played a small part in saving the nations resources and environment and helped to reduce imports of raw materials and equipment.

With the move towards more and more recycling of materials, companies large and small are realizing that reconditioned conveying equipment is a cost effective and viable alternative to new, often carrying the same warranties and guarantees as new items.
